Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey ageing in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding.

**JOB SUMMARY**

The **Controller** reports to the CFO and is responsible for helping in managing a team of finance professionals in the accounting operations of the company to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Payroll, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Cash Management
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Assist FP&A in preparing budgets and forecasts
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Manage month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Manage and comply with provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Additional controller duties as necessary

**QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES**
- Proven working experience as a Financial controller or in a similar capacity
- 7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Advanced degree in Accounting
- CPA or CMA a must, MBA an asset
- A strong business and financial background, and the ability to make sound decisions in the field
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements and management scorecards
- Experience with general ledger functions, complicated reconciliations, and the month-end/year end close process
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills; Experience with SAP an asset
- Excellent business communication skills; Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand
- Costing accounting experience an asset
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel. Programming and/or VBA skill an asset
