In our continued drive to provide outstanding professional consulting services and original solutions to a wide range of natural resource problems, we are looking for an energetic and experienced **Regulatory Specialist - Project Manager**.

Primary duties may include:

- Design and implement scientific consulting solutions for clients.
- Communicate with clients regarding their needs.
- Conduct day to day administration of projects.
- Work with field staff in the execution of field studies and field coordination.
- Prepare proposals for project work.
- Provide quality assurance of data.
- Assist with hearing preparation and act as an expert witness.
- Market WEST’s capabilities.
- Foster current business relationships and promote new business development efforts.
- Help maintain WEST’s position as thought leaders in the environmental consulting market.
- Provide strategic input and support to WEST in growing and expanding our work for the renewable industry.

Job Requirements

**Job Requirements**:

- Legally allowed to work in Canada (i.e., Canadian citizen, Canadian permanent resident, or have an existing VISA with no work restrictions) **Please note: US citizens require a Canadian work visa to work in Canada**:

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, planning, or natural resource science, with a master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years in environmental consulting and project management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in business development and consulting work, professional scientific experience, and a track record of maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clients, stakeholders, or sub-consultants.
- Understanding of the renewable energy market, preferably in Alberta.
- Natural science technical knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to work on biological field studies.
- Strong, competent writing skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail and accurately report the scientific methods and results of field studies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good time management, project management and organizational skills with the ability to work well under time constraints and meet deliverable targets and deadlines.
- Ability to follow instructions from managers and accept guidance and constructive criticism.
- Experience with statistical analysis, beneficial, but not mandatory
