**Job description**
To keep up with demand, we are looking to add an Electro-Mechanical Assembler to join our growing team in a fun yet busy and challenging work environment. As this position primarily involves product assembly, working remotely is not possible. This is a full time, permanent position.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Assembly and alignment of optical and mechanical components
- Must have strong soldering skills.
- Manually assemble various electronic components (Resistors, diodes, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, switches, wires and cables)
- Replace defective components and repair circuit boards.
- Install, mount, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring and harnesses to subassemblies and assemblies using hand and small power tools.
- Other job functions will include testing products before they are packaged and update production data in ERP system.
- Quality control testing of lasers, light fixtures, and electronic devices
- Picking orders from warehouse and preparing products for shipment
- Assisting as required with shipping, receiving, and other warehouse/stock management duties when needed
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Technical diploma in electronics, photonics, or equivalent preferred but not required
- 3-5 years of electronics assembly experience is an asset
- 2-3 years of soldering experience not just components including cabling and wiring
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with lasers and LED light sources is an asset
- PLC programming experience is an asset
**Physical requirements**:
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Full color vision
- Able to use power tools and precision hand tools
