**_City University of Seattle in Canada is looking for a qualified Associate Program Director to join its outstanding team of faculty and staff in the School of Education and Leadership, MEd in School Counselling Program. The Associate Program _**_Director contributes to a quality student experience by ensuring the rigour of the MEd School_**_ Counselling program components, which may include program design, assessment, technology integrations, and curriculum development. Associate Program Directors manage teaching faculty, foster student development, and engage in academic governance._**

**Job Summary**:
The Associate Program Director assists the Academic Program Director in ensuring the quality and integrity of the program. Provides proactive student support, develops teaching faculty, participates in curriculum and course development, teaches core courses, and actively engages in academic governance.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Teaches two courses per year within compensation.
- Fosters and promotes teaching excellence. Provides orientation, training, mentoring, coaching, and evaluation for associate faculty.
- Proactively supports students to become responsible, ethical, self-directed professionals.
- Engages in the scholarship of teaching and learning, as well as applied or original research.
- Assists the Academic Program Director with assessing, reviewing, and developing specified program components. Maintains program currency and assists in reviewing and revising programs to enhance student learning experience.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- PhD in Counselling Psychology or related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in the K-12 school system.
- Prior teaching experience is an asset.
- Experience in higher education management and adult education an asset.
- Ability to address student academic-related issues and concerns in support of retention and student success.
- Culturally competent to serve a diverse student and faculty body
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing in a creative, fast-paced in-person and virtual environment.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Must relate to and communicate with diverse students, faculty, staff, and external communities.
- Ability to present a professional image for academic school and CityU.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and learning management systems in support of quality teaching and learning.
