**About us**

At HWS, we use a gender based analysis (GBA+), trauma and violence informed framework to deliver prevention, education and crisis support services to women and their families who have been impacted by gender based violence (GBV) in rural Huron County. Our services include a 24-hour helpline and emergency shelter, risk assessment and safety planning, advocacy, system navigation, individual and group healing opportunities, and community development.

We are seeking an experienced, visionary leader as our next **Full-Time Residential Manager **to join our team for a twelve (12) month contract, with possibility of the role continuing.

Using a GBA+, trauma and violence informed framework, the Residential Manager is accountable to manage effective functioning of residential programs and operations, for the provision of a safe and supportive environment for women and families impacted by Gender Based Violence (GBV).

**Your duties and responsibilities will include (this is not an exhaustive list)**

1. Support the Advocate team in case planning, ensuring quality assurance processes are aligned with competence in risk assessment, safety planning, system navigation, advocacy, as well as supporting a woman’s healing journey using a GBA+, trauma and violence informed approach.

2. Work with the residential team to ensure appropriate documentation processes are in place and followed.

3. Actively supports the team using a co-active leadership style to provide supervision, direction, training, coaching and development. Provides feedback on performance, including completing performance assessments. Partners with staff in the planning and generation of learning and development plans.

4. Completes quality assurance and audits files, providing feedback and modifies processes and procedures to ensure adherence to standards and best practices. Oversees, maintains, trains, and provides input on standards for the recording and storing of information specific to client files. Implement effective evaluation and reporting tools.

5. Ensures new staff reporting to the position are provided appropriate orientation and onboarding supporting their success in the role. Responsible for the full cycle recruitment and selection staff reporting to the role.

6. Maintains and approves staffing schedule for residential services ensuring appropriate 24/7 coverage is in place.

7. Coordinates and leads various staff meetings specific to residential operations including the relief and on-call team meetings.

8. Contributes as a member of the leadership team, providing input into the development of strategic plans, initiatives, budgets, and goals.

9. Supports the Senior Manager in the generation and compilation of reports required to be provided to Ministry and funders. Provides statistical reports to the Senior Manager including recommendations from an initial review and analysis.

10. Supports the implementation of Ministry of Children, Community & Social Services shelter standards.

11. Makes recommendations of modifications and maintenance requirements for facilities to the Senior Manager.

12. Acts as an administrator for the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Women In Safe Housing (WISH) systems, and as an expert in the Women In Safe Housing (WISH) system, provides training and support to all staff within the organization. Ensures the continued implementation, evolution, and provides necessary support of the WISH system.

13. Participate and lead committee meetings as assigned (internal and external).

14. Acts as a Women & Family Advocate in back-up capacity, as required.

15. Other duties as assigned.

**Location**

This position will require the incumbent to work at our administration office, located at 376 Huron Road, Goderich, Ontario

**Hours**

The hours for this position are 35 hours per week and part of the On-Call rotation, and may be required to work variable day, evening, night and/or weekend hours to support program needs.

- Excellent conflict resolution skills; ability to facilitate difficult conversations when required
- Demonstrated skills in women’s advocacy, case planning and effective child/women-centered practice and service delivery.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications, relationship building, listening and assessment skills.
- Valid driver’s license; access to a reliable vehicle and proof of adequate insurance ($2 million); willingness to facilitate transportation to appointments/shelter transfer, etc. as deemed necessary/appropriate to care.
