We are a leading real estate development company specializing in commercial, industrial, and residential projects. We are seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team of seasoned professionals and drive our projects in both the Lower Mainland and Okanagan to new heights.
This is a full-time, permanent position, with an excellent benefits package, and room for growth. As an Equipment Operator, your duties will include:
**Responsibilities**:
- Operating heavy machinery such as excavator, skid steer, forklift, and backhoe.
- Operating equipment in a safe manner.
- Performing basic construction, maintenance, and repair work.
- Checking equipment on a regular basis and reporting any malfunctions to Supervisor.
- Following project plans and specifications.
- Travelling to, and working at, various jobsites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Operating hand tools and power tools as required.
- Following safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Performing all duties assigned by the Site Supervisor and Foreman.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or equivalent; vocational or certification in heavy equipment operation preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience with excavator, skid steer, forklift, and backhoe.
- Must have valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Class 1 or 3 license considered an asset.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Available to work overtime.
- Open to travelling to different jobsites.
- Minimum 6 months of experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in construction industry and working on jobsites.
- Must have good oral and written English skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to upholding safety and quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
