To lead the maintenance team in reaching output requirements through the efficient use of provided resources. Support the key operating principles of Safety, OPEX, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement of our process product and our employees. Maintain a high standard of quality in meeting our customer expectations.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:

- Support all company safety initiatives. Conduct weekly safety walks, enforce all safety policies, ensure all employees are trained in safe work procedures, submit hazard and spill reports as required.
- Support OPEX through both weekly 5S and monthly world class audits and coordination of continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain the quality and timeliness of the output of the maintenance group.
- Lead the maintenance team by using the daily maintenance huddle with a focus on achieving our preventative maintenance schedule as well as our unplanned maintenance requests.
- Support and Assist manager with the implementation of special projects.
- Manage and schedule overtime as required by the Company or CBA, within the allowable budgeted limit wherever possible.
- Ensure cross-training levels of our employees is adequate to always ensure appropriate levels of coverage.
- Interface with other cells and departments as required to resolve issues.
- Manage outside contractor activities as required, including obtaining quotations and ensuring the contractors are following Carfair rules and requirements.
- Report unexpected issues and delays and bring forward ideas and options for resolution.
- Manage and resolve personnel issues and respond quickly to all employees’ concerns.
- Document and conduct employees’ reviews on time and maintain employee time and attendance records.
- Conduct discipline meetings as required.
- Maintain a vacation schedule and all other records for the team.
- Ensure policies and processes are established and adhered to ensure goals and objectives for all regulatory and legal requirements are met including organizational Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
- Other duties as assigned, including special projects.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:

- 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Industrial Supervision, Previous Manufacturing engineering or technologist certificate or degree and/or Industrial Mechanic Certification
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good people skills
- Ability to monitor and control many different tasks
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excel training would be considered an asset
