The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

**GEOLOGY DATABASE SPECIALIST**

**Key Responsibilities**

Area 1:
Manager geological database.
- Ensure that all geological data is suitably transferred and validated, as well as securely retained in the geological database.
- Create and/or modify the database structure, perform data audits.
- Create the database workspace for Geology, Geotechnical and Mine Engineering and Geometallurgy.
- Ensure data integration, import and export.
- Perform QAQC and approve sample assay results.
- Collect data and perform analysis as needed.

Area 2:
Consultation on geological data and define/improve workflow.
- Collect, analyze and catalog geologic samples and study the location, character, quantity and interpret results.
- Perform geological modeling with Leapfrog for resource estimation, grade control and mine planning.
- Define and improve the workflows in order to implement grade control and reconciliation.
- Compile geochemical and geometallurgical data.

Area 3:
Create and manage KPI interface of geological work and review the results.
- Compile statistical data on the drilling, sampling and assay return.
- Create and manage interface of the compilation data by Power BI.
- Review KPI and discuss with senior geologists for improvement.
- Prepare map and support presentation for geological work results for reporting.

Area 4:
Work collaboratively with others to deliver innovative continuous improvement opportunities.
- Seek and implement best-in-class practices.
- Propose new methods to meet challenges of mine geology.
- Propose and improve the ore body extraction while remaining cost efficient.
- Keep abreast of trends in mine geology and impart to Cote Gold.
- Provide new approaches, methods or policies to optimize performance and ensure compliance with industry regulations and organizational standards.
- Continuously seek to improve technical knowledge and skills.
- Conduct research and benchmarking to support decision-making and improve mining processes, technologies and methodologies used for the mine.

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents
- Post-secondary degree in a geology or database management related diploma.

Work experience - Nature & Length
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in database management.
- A minimum of 2 years of geology experience in the mining industry.

Additional qualifications - Competency requirements
- Basic programming experience with Python +/or R is an asset;
- High level of energy, self-motivation and strong organizational skills;
- Excellent inter-personal skills together with an ability to facilitate commitment to a cooperative team effort;
- Good communication skills, both orally and written, with both internal and external contacts and the ability to work with all levels of the organization;
- Innovative thinking and ability to work under pressure;
- Must have experience in working in diverse cultures;
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure and database administration (MS SQL, Oracle, AcQuire)
- Very good knowledge of MinePlan, Leapfrog, GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS) and Power BI;
