**Business Continuity Coordinator**

The Business Continuity Coordinator supports an effective enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) governance framework that is consistent with general regulatory requirements and industry best practices/standards across the Enterprise, ensuring that Empire Life is appropriately prepared for and can respond to unexpected events and disruptions to normal activities.

**What you’ll be working on**:
- Work with management in all lines of business to coordinate business continuity governance activities.- Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity management program- Development of tools and documentation for both Business Continuity planning and event management- Coordination / facilitation of enterprise wide simulation/testing exercises for BCP and Disaster Recovery- Relationship management with external vendors- Maintenance of corporate policy, standards, and guidelines- Ensures that the enterprise BCM program remains current, and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as appropriate, and adequately covers general regulatory requirements.- Provides guidance and direction to lines of business to ensure their business continuity management processes are in accordance with Empire Life’s enterprise wide business continuity management program and quality standards.- Monitors, supports and provides metrics relating to the ongoing maintenance of business continuity plans, confirming that annual testing is conducted by business units and that annual review / attestation of BCP plans is carried out by senior leadership for their respective department(s)- Participates in external business continuity management groups/resources to keep abreast of industry best practices and trends.

**What you’ll need to have**:
- At least 5 years of experience in Business Continuity, in the Insurance industry- In-depth understanding of business continuity management and governance frameworks- Strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, operational risk management- Strong project management skills would be an asset- Excellent communication skills, particularly related to facilitation, documentation and reporting- Vendor and stakeholder relationship management and leadership skills.- Additional Assets: Industry certification in one or more of the following: BCI, PMI, CCSA, CISA, CA, CCSP, ISC, ITIL, etc.
