**RCMP Admin Clerk - 2 Positions - Each 6 month Term**
**Starting Wage - $28.78 plus proposed COLA Increase (40 hrs per week)
**This position is responsible for and performs all Clerical and Administrative
duties, functions, and support for the Sylvan Lake RCMP Detachment.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION:
- Assistant Court Clerk - Assist with monitoring all court appearances on JOIN (court

computer system), update information on court files.
- Data Entry on PROS (Police Reporting and Occurrence System) and CPIC

(Canadian Police Information Centre) and updating information
- PROS involves
entering information for every file handled by the detachment (involved person,
vehicles, property, court information and entering statistical data).
- Receptionist duties - dealing with the public, taking complaints and answering

inquires on the phone and at the front counter. Answering inquiries and assisting
other Police and Government agencies.
- Transcribe audio statements of victims, witnesses and accused persons.
- Criminal Record Checks for members of the public requiring information for

volunteer or employment purposes - querying databases, completion, copying, and
dissemination of forms, collecting funds when required.
- Completion of month end prisoner returns, and monthly statistics. Cash deposits of

funds collected from Police information checks, and Receiver General Funds.
- Composing and submission of weekly press release.
- Typing of court documents (Criminal Information, subpoenas and warrants).
- Processing outgoing mail and dissemination of incoming mail.
- Assisting members and Victim Services Coordinator with varying aspects of police

duties.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma
- Office Administration or related field of studies an asset
- Minimum of 2 years RCMP experience
- Current RCMP Security Clearance (or has expired in the last 12 months)
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code/ Provincial Statures and Privacy Legislation an
- asset- Experience with CPIC, PROS, JOIN and dispatching complaints are assets
- Advanced conflict resolution skills
