**Jr. Estimator / Project Coordinator**

**Job Summary**

**Key Accountabilities**
- Assist in analyzing drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Estimator and project team to gather necessary information for cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs and gather pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assist in preparing accurate and detailed estimates and proposals under the guidance of the Sr. Estimator.
- Develop strategies, advantages, or innovations for projects as a form of differentiation and increase the best total value for our customers.
- Prepare the basis of estimate and compile all estimate documentation required for internal governance and client presentation / submission prepare FCM (Full cost model) for management review and approval.
- Attend site walk-down / pre-tender site visits as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes for materials and equipment.
- Assist in reviewing and comparing quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and procurement documents.
- Monitor material orders and deliveries to ensure timely arrival at project sites.
- Maintain accurate records of material orders, deliveries, and costs.
- Support project coordination activities such as scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and project documentation.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Provide administrative support to the Estimating and Project Management teams as needed.
- Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment and monitoring the workplace to ensure a high standard of commitment to all occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Maintain a personal network of business contacts & connections to manage the business unit and develop business and project opportunities more comprehensively.
- Foster a project culture that leads to ongoing excellence and effective growth of business operations while maintaining the highest integrity.
- Conduct personal growth initiatives for ongoing improvement & understanding of leadership, management, construction, planning and communication.
- Collaborate with other Area Managers and Superintendents in the effective utilization of personnel and equipment.

Collaborate with the department heads of safety and quality and business development in the achievement of business initiatives.

**Qualifications & Education**
- Journeyman Electrician/Instrumentation Certificate
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in electrical estimating, purchasing, or related field.
- Proficient use of computerized systems, project estimating & software tools
- Experience with the following tools/software would also be considered an asset:

- Trimble Accubid estimating software.
- Microsoft Excel, Word & Projects.
- Acrobat Adobe Professional.
- Bluebeam.
- Primavera P6
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), including hazardous area classifications
- Networking skills for working with internal management, stakeholders, maintenance and operations staff, equipment vendors, and engineering and construction contractors.
- Highly committed to teamwork in a multi-discipline environment and maintaining a positive attitude.
- A high performer that delivers on requirements efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Periodic trips to remote field locations will be required.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.

- Good professional verbal and communication skills and organizational and time management skills.
