**Job Title**:Microbiologist III/R&D Technician or Microbiologist IV/R&D Technician

**Accountable To**:Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO)

**Education**: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in microbiology, or related biological sciences. A B.Sc. may also be considered with appropriate work experience.

**Description**:

- Responsible for the design, planning and completion of study protocols, as part of the company’s internal research program.
- Prepares reagents, samples, and solutions and keeps accurate records of work carried out.
- Responsible for organizing and analyzing the resulting data, and presenting the data to Innovotech’s managerial team.
- Evaluates and applies the results of research for potential new processes, techniques or practices.
- Writes original research papers and technical reports and/or helps with intellectual property development based on findings, as required.
- Generates and follows protocols and SOPs.
- Cleans/maintains/calibrates/operates laboratory equipment on a routine basis; documents actions related to laboratory apparatus, equipment, glassware, instruments, and safety devices; and notifies supervisor when repair or service is needed.
- Supports the timely and on-budget delivery of contract research in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Participates in laboratory meetings.
- Trains and supervises laboratory technicians and laboratory assistants, as required.
- Upholds and practices the company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee

Handbook.

**Skills required**:

- 2-4 years of experience in microbiology.
- Trained in laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.

**Preferred skills**:

- Experience working with a broad range of microorganisms.
- Experience growing microorganisms under a variety of conditions including aerobic, CO2, microaerophilic and anaerobic conditions.

**Compensation**:

- Salary range is $55,000-67,000 annually. To be determined based on training and experience.
