**Job Title**:Marketing and Communications Assistant

**Location**: 168 East Pender Street, Vancouver BC

**Role Overview**
We are seeking an individual with a passion for marketing and creativity, as well as one who thrives in a fast-paced environment dedicated to community-building. This position will be an important role on our marketing team and will primarily support the Foundation’s economic revitalization and physical revitalization projects. Key responsibilities include assistance with planning, administration, and delivery of marketing & communication initiatives including social media, digital, and online communications. **Responsibilities**
- Marketing Communication Coordination:_
- Participate in the development of the marketing strategies, and the design and execution of the marketing plan for VCF projects including**:Social housing**:

- 58 West Hastings, May Wah;
**Economic Revitalization **- driving traffic to Chinatown to support businesses, and Community events (e.g. Light Up Chinatown Taste of Chinatown); and
**Fundraising and Partnerships **including the Gala and Spring Banquet.
- Design and develop print and digital marketing assets in collaboration with graphic designer
- Provide maintenance and update content on the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation website
- Write copy for websites and news releases
- Coordinate and produce e-communications including newsletters and e-blasts
- Manage the calendar of communications-relevant activities
- Social Media Coordination:_
- Manage and develop content, including written and photographic assets for the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation social media channels with a focus on developing social media presence
- Work to grow followers and engagement on social media channels
- Monitor social media activities of other similar organizations and partner channels

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field
- 3+ years of related marketing, communications and/or social media experience
- Experience in the areas of traditional, digital and social media, blogging, search engine optimization, etc.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work on multiple projects and consistently deliver results within a tight timeframe
- Demonstrated use of digital content (including written, graphical, or video format) and social media strategies
- Experience with design, video editing, CMS and WordPress are required.
- Superior writing skills

Working at the Vancouver Chinatown Foundation is about joining a dynamic passionate team focused on creativity and innovation to revitalize Chinatown in the city of Vancouver. This is an in-office position with office hours of 9:00 to 5:00, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in scheduling to support evening and weekend work may be required and will be discussed in advance.
