**Position**: Project Coordinator

**Reports to**: Manager

**Location**: Surrey (Head Office)

**Hours**: 35 hours a week

**Wage**: $24 - $26

**Project Description**:
The project will provide legal services and supports for racialized communities to address the increasing accessibility and dissemination of legal information and resources and our increased capacity to develop and offer justice-related services. By circulating our resources widely via the website, social media, and outreach activities to other service providers, the public awareness of the justice system is increased.

**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- establishes good relations with the community and legal organizations;
- refers clients to Justice Education Society and other legal organizations;
- engages with law professionals from our partners to accomplish an advocacy role;
- provides webinars and workshops to newcomers and racialized communities on legal topics;
- maintains high standards of providing legal support with strict confidentiality;
- arranges translation services for the translation of Legal Help Factsheets and other materials;
- establishes partnerships with French-speaking organizations in the community;
- organizes forums to collect client surveys focused on the need’s assessment of legal support in our communities;
- maintains current information and data analysis for reporting purposes and for the sustainability of the project;
- Utilizes marketing resources to promote activities and disseminates information that is consistent with marketing and communications plans at PICS;
- builds a strong relationship with our legal partner to run the project efficiently and successfully;
- adheres to policies and standards as established by PICS Policy and Procedure Manual, PICS Health and Safety Guidelines;
- adopts creative strategies and establishes appropriate community partnerships to reach and recruit client target group(s) and to provide orientation to clients; and
- conducts and assesses client eligibility for the intake process.

**Education and Experience**:

- undergraduate Degree in related field (legal, justice, etc. or a suitable combination of education and experience);
- experience in dealing with community issues and barriers that require legal support; and
- experience working with racialized communities.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- knowledge of the racialized community’s issues and challenges in the community;
- proven ability to resolve matters with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and techniques;
- ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural and diverse environment;
- ability to work independently, set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines; and
- proficient verbal and written knowledge of English language.

**Other Requirements**:

- willing to get training in the Gender-Based Analysis Plus program;
- flexibility and willingness to work outside of regular work hours;
- valid driver’s license and access to suitable vehicle is required; and
- clean criminal record check (vulnerable sector).
