The Environmental Occupational Health and Safety (EOH&S) Coordinator reports to the Director of OH&S. The role will endeavor to support and coordinate activities to ensure that the operation and management of GWLRA-Managed Assets and all GWLRA Personnel and Contractors comply with the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations in concert with the Corporate OH&S Policy, Program and Procedures. To monitor, and communicate where appropriate, Applicable OH&S Legislation and any anticipated initiatives by Regulatory Authorities that could have a significant effect on business. **RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**EOH&S Communication**:

- Providing weekly updates to the company’s internal intranet and systems
- Driving the OH&S safety campaigns for hazard awareness
- Responding to general inquiries and monitoring the OH&S Mailbox and Forms
- Updating Eye on Safety Communications for OH&S lessons learned
- Preparing quarterly updates for EOH&S metrics and management systems

**Ergonomics**:

- Coordinating Pre-Assessment form completion by employee and manager
- If risks are not controlled by general remedies, engaging an external consultant to assess the risks
- Coordinating consultant’s deliverables and reviewing the assessments
- Ensuring the recommendations for the assessments are implemented as per the report findings for the employee
- Following up with the manager of the employee to ensure the accommodations are working

**OH&S Incident Reporting Requirements (WCB and OH&S ESRTW)**:

- Ensuring OHS Incidents are reported on time
- Ensuring incidents are reviewed and Payroll is notified as applicable
- Ensuring the identified corrective measures are implemented upon root causation review
- Facilitating Early and Safe Return to Work requirements for any injured employee that requires a modified duty as per until back to pre-injury status
- Coordinating and documenting acknowledgement form, list of restricted duties as per the medical functional abilities form and an agreed upon list of modified tasks
- Interacting as required (daily, weekly, as required) with both parties
- Tracking, Trending, and updating metrics such as Recordable Incident Rates (RIR), Hazard Identification and Close-out (HIC), Training assigned and completed.

**OH&S Awareness Training**:

- Working closely with the Business Solutions team to review, beta test and update OH&S training content
- Monitoring the on-line training system as it relates to OH&S training requirements for performance metrics
- Recording OH&S training completion status and ensuring records are kept up-to date and current for report gathering and internal reporting requirements

**National Advisory Committee (NAC) and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)**:

- Preparing monthly meeting agenda and minutes
- Monitoring and supporting monthly deliverables as per the committee’s established goals and objectives
- Interacting regularly with regional managers and employees regarding workplace hazards and controls, such as Task Hazard Assessments (THA)
- Updating and maintaining the OH&S intranet sites and team channels
- Organizing the annual NAC Conference
- Onboarding new NAC members

**OH&S Site/Building Specific**:

- Capturing and Monitoring Contractor OH&S Incidents
- Assisting with Contractor Safety Protocols and Orientations as applicable
- Reviewing industry and regulatory requirements as it pertains to Employer and Contractor
- Reviewing and revising content as per the provincial regulations
- Working with regions to assist with equipment inventory and tracking as it relates to OH&S and other initiatives such as building control processes
- Assisting with initiatives as it relates to the EH&S Compliance System specifically through the action and findings module

**Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Coordination**:

- Ensuring WHMIS training requirements are communicated to applicable staff
- Maintaining current CCOHS program requirements for Safety Data Sheets
- Providing CCOHS with newly acquired sites (buildings) for SDS inventory set-up
- Setting up regional site representatives to access building specific SDS
- Regular updates to the dedicated teams’ channels as per any changes to the program
- Ensuring OH&S and Environmental WHMIS procedures are communicated to applicable staff
