We are looking for a Photo Editor to help build the visual brand of a luxury travel recommendation site. This site will be _the_ go-to source for how best to travel, highlighting everything from the hottest destinations to the most coveted hotels, restaurants and more.

The Photo Editor's primary responsibilities are to research, conceptualize and license photography for the site and supporting social platforms and to provide support on workflow, billing, contracts and other photo logistics, including collaborating with the Art, Editorial and Production teams. They should be a clear communicator and a highly collaborative team player.

**Responsibilities**
- Conduct image research for digital stories using a broad and inventive selection of resources.
- Identify, edit and select the most impactful photographs ensuring that the relevant aspects of a story are covered.
- Archive and maintain photography assets.
- Match images to content in unexpected and modern ways.
- Negotiate with suppliers for the best prices on borrowing or buying images and securing rights and fees.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts.
- Locate images' rights holders and arrange usage across regions, platforms and languages.
- Create and maintain budgets.
- Coordinate with the Editorial and Production teams to process and track invoices and payments to photo agencies and image banks.
- Review and edit captions and keywords for accuracy in accordance with industry guidelines and standards.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in photography, visual arts, digital media and related fields or equivalent journalistic experience.
- One
- to two years of research experience, with interest in photographs and other visual material within the context of narrative journalism.
- Experience with digital technology, proficiency in Adobe software, in particular Photoshop and Bridge.
- A sound grasp of copyright law.
- A meticulous eye for detail.
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and a proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
