Job Title: Multi-Media Journalist

The Hamilton Spectator is seeking an experienced multi-media journalist with the ability to tell compelling stories for both digital and print platforms. As a key member of our team, the successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content that meets the needs of our readers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating with the local news editor to consistently produce interesting and newsworthy stories.
  • Producing engaging multi-media content for website and social media outlets, including photos, video, and audio posts.
  • Traveling throughout the community to capture events and information outside of structured work hours.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Journalism or a related field.
  • Self-starter with the ability to exercise solid news judgment.
  • Competent in using social media and with solid online posting skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (Canadian Press Style).
  • Effective organizational skills, ability to manage time and prioritize tasks appropriately.
