Client Service Leader

The Client Service Leader sees to the day-to-day office operations, management and performance of an H&R Block Office. The CSL serves as the front-line manager responsible for office growth, leadership and development and is generally responsible for all aspects of a large size tax office operation. This would also include greeting/acknowledging each client, identifying his/her needs, and providing prompt and accurate information while maintain a pleasant and professional atmosphere. During tax season the CSL will also be expected to conduct client interviews and subsequently prepare tax returns in such a way that the client pays the least possible amount of tax prescribed by law.

Essential duties and responsibilities
- Providing and managing outstanding client service of the office
- Setting office goals and driving performance to exceed goals
- Greeting and welcoming each client, determining the client’s service needs and providing accurate information and service
- Receiving and securing cash, cheques, debit/credit card receipts and balancing cash as part of end-of-day closing procedure.
- Recording all transactions in Point of Sale computer and completing bank deposits.
- Assisting in office operations, human resource functions and local marketing
- Supervising, training and coaching tax office associates
- Implementing company policies and ensuring compliance
- Being knowledgeable on tax products and topics and H&R Block products and services in order to provide clients with product information and advise. Utilizing H&R Block’s continuing professional education programs to attain, maintain and strengthen tax expertise.
- Conducting interviews for the purpose of preparing complete, accurate tax returns utilizing H&R Block customer service and programs. Providing tax information and offering appropriate tax-saving suggestions.
- Prepare accurate and complete tax returns for clients as needed and preparing required documentation for Efile and Instant Refund services as well as delivering these services.
- Reviewing status of COD, Hold & Drop-Off returns on an ongoing basis, following up with clients as necessary and reviewing bulletin board items and responding accordingly.
- Following standard operating procedures for office opening and closing requirements, security, supply ordering, file maintenance and office appearance and cleanliness.
- Assisting the Franchise owner to achieve client retention and revenue goals

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional course work in math is preferred. Combination of education and related work experience as Office Manager or Tax Professional an asset.
- 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience is client service. Preference will be given to those that possess relevant tax office experience.
- Proven leadership skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented, organizational, math and analytical skills
- Experience with leading the end-to-end client experience, including conflict client resolution.
- Good decision-making skills and the ability to function well under stress while working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong administration and organization skills to plan, manage and execute day-to-day office operations.
- Knowledge and experience with a Windows based computer system and tax preparation software preferred.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course and having passed the examinations is a strong asset.

Remuneration

Competitive salary negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

Min 40hrs work week during Tax Season, guaranteed 18hrs/week during off-season.

**Salary**: $16.00-$25.00 per hour

- Secondary School (preferred)
