**Position Overview**:
The Crew Chief is responsible to supervise and assign personnel to meet maintenance requirements to provide mission ready search and rescue helicopters. In addition, the Crew Chief performs elementary servicing and maintenance duties in support of the aircraft maintenance program.

**What You Will Do**:

- Provide supervision to other employees, including task assignment and overtime assignment;
- Provide input to crew shift assignment, crew/shop vacation schedules, deployment manning, aircraft maintenance scheduling and selection of aircraft for flight;
- Plan, coordinate and lead Deployment and Mobile Repair Parties;
- Recommend personnel for training;
- Maintain crew/ shop attendance record;
- Perform First and Second Level maintenance on aircraft mechanical, structural and electrical and/or avionic systems, and components, and ground support equipment. This will include, but not limited to, the servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing and certification (release) of aircraft mechanical, structural and electrical and/or avionic systems and components and ground support equipment;
- Ramp duties will include, but not limited to, pre/post flight inspection and support, marshaling, parking, towing, fuelling/defueling, installation of required mission equipment, aircraft crash and technical response and aircraft salvage response;
- Perform ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, where qualified and authorized;
- Fly as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry and deployment operations;
- Travel and work at other main operating bases, deployments in support of operations at remote sites, mobile repair parties and ferry flights;
- Provide on-job-training to other employees;
- Attend training for trade and professional development and for qualification, recertification, and authorization purposes;
- Ensure hangar, shops, stores and offices are kept clean and swept;
- Adhere to policies, procedures and directives established by the Company;
- Enforce policies, procedures and directives established by the Company;
- Perform other duties as may be required in support of the CH 149 ISSC.

**What You Will Bring**:

- Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician within the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience;
- Meet the requirements of a CH 149 Maintainer as defined in SPP 936;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in helicopter maintenance is required;
- Skilled ability to coordinate crew activities, including but not limited, to task assignment, shift assignment, attendance control, overtime and vacation scheduling;
- Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including, but not limited to, power plants, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures and power generation and distribution systems;
- Knowledge of corrosion control techniques;
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints and Standard Plant Procedures;
- Capable of performing Non-destructive Inspection;
- Ability to use standard computer programs and such specialized ones as may be necessary in the performances of the duties;
- Valid NL Class 5 Drive License, ability to drive vehicles, tow tractors and support vehicles;
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies; Continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation;

- Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
