Core Responsibilities:

- Assisting in the day-to-day activities of the operation to produce products of sufficient quality and quantity to meet the projected needs of customers.
- Keeping historical data, analyzing, and monitoring key efficiencies and parameters against design and/or standards to assist Operations with troubleshooting and meeting costs and production goals.
- Coordinating maintenance activities to meet production needs of the business and ensure necessary maintenance is completed.
- Promoting Safety, Health and Environmental programs to ensure workforce stability, eliminating losses attributable to personal injury or property damage, and comply with regulatory guidelines applicable to manufacturing processes and product characteristics.
- Immediately mitigate safety, health and environmental incidents or concerns, searching out assistance when needed.
- Verify, document and follow up on all safety, health and environmental incident reports within 24 hours of incident.
- Ensure a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is completed on all incidents in department, and incidents as well as corrective actions are communicated to the plant.
- Review JHSC comments and action items in area and lead opportunities for improvement.
- Monitoring process conditions and operational activities and proposes RCAs and corrective action as needed to ensure operation of the process in a cost effective and efficient manner.
- Analyzing processes, developing new operating techniques, and recommending changes or capital expenditures to maintain or improve business efficiencies, facility life and quality.
- Assisting in the training and coaching of operations personnel in both process design and operational techniques established to maintain unit business objectives and to provide organizational strength and individual growth within the organization.
- Ability to manage a manufacturing environment, including capability to perform effectively in high stress, emergency, and crisis situations.
- Ability to train and coach others to improve performance.
- Capacity to solve problems through creative, innovative solutions and challenge traditional methods of accomplishing tasks.
- Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships.
- Actively support in the implementation and sustainability of the Ingredion Performance System.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or equivalent in education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate across functional lines at all levels.
- Decision making ability, planning, and time management skills
- Assertive, creative, energetic, and positive thinker.
- PC literate with word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience.
- Proficient, or working towards proficiency in statistical data analysis.
- Create an environment conducive to teamwork.
- Encourage discussion on work practices for the betterment of the departments.
- Be professional and unbiased in decision making.
- Provide, manage, and oversee technical development of hourly workforce.
