Financial Aid Officer - Job Duties
- Provide information, instruction, and advice to students regarding financial planning for post-secondary education including student financial assistance and award program options and external funding sources, and external financial counselling services.
- Provide to students regarding student financial assistance programs.
- Provide advice and direction to students regarding student loan repayment.
- Confirm student enrolment via various provincial student loan portals and complete program information forms for students upon request.
- Create payment amendments for students in accordance with their student loan disbursements and in conjunction with the policies of the institution’s department of finance.
- Communication, coordination, and cooperation with the provincial and federal student loan programs upon request.
- Entrance/exit interviews with students receiving student loans.
- Payment tracking and organization of payment due dates.
- Organization of student files, conduct regular internal audits to ensure all documentation is on file.
- Key Performance Indicators - collection and organization of student enrolment and graduate data; timely submission of data.
- Ensure the institution is following policies implemented as related to student loan program requirements.
- Process student loan recipient withdrawals in a timely fashion and provide students with accurate withdrawal policy information.

In addition:

- Tracking of admissions requirements;
- DH Student Handbook remodel and enrolment packages;
- Register students in PROFF and update student info in PROFF as required;
- Grade entrance exams & take entrance exam payments;
- Creating documents for students
- Admissions file organizations;
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a post-secondary education setting is preferred
- Experience in a finance-related role.
- Attention to detail and extremely organized
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks during peak times and effective time management skills
- Highly self-motivated and ability to work effectively independently and in a team setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills and critical thinking/analytical skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- OTTAWA, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
