**Job Summary**

The Center Manager at Tender Years Co-Operative is an integral part of the organization as they ensure that the center operates efficiently and supports the organization’s strategic and operational planning and goals.

**Qualifications**:

- Have a minimum five (5) years’ work experience in education, with 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- Obtain proof of clear Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector
- Maintain up-to-dateFirst Aid/CPR certification - Level C
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills with students, parents/families/caregivers, community members/partners, and board of directors
- Strong analytical, and organizational time management skills
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong leadership, team working skills as well as the ability to work independently
- Effective oral and written communication
- Have a thorough understanding of the issues that affect students and their families, especially within the context of teaching and learning at the early childhood level

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Lead, guide and facilitate positive communications with prospective and existing TYC families**:

- Maintain a courteous and professional disposition with all visitors to the school at all times, by regularly welcoming them to Tender Years and initiating conversation
- Manage daycare inquiries and waitlist for enrollment
- Organize tours and actively encourage interested families to visit our school to view our programming
- Actively work to increase enrolment and waitlist numbers
- Actively work to grow revenue for TYC through enrollment, fundraising, grants, etc.
- Field parent questions and inquiries and address their concerns in a diplomatic and timely manner
- Primary contact for relevant parent concerns
- Attend family meetings and interviews if needed and as requested by either the staff or parent/guardians
- Encourage active participation of parents in all school activities and on school committees
- Actively work to find ways of increasing family engagement within the school
- Oversees communications with parents such as seasonal newsletters, and notifications parents
- Manage Active Families and membership roles
- Liase with the BOD and attend regular BOD meetings to provide updates throughout the year as necessary
- Support, attend, and actively participate in _all _scheduled school events and activities
- Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
- **Ensure all administrative, financial/funding, licensing and non-profit by-law requirements are fulfilled and maintained in good standing**
- Maintain and update bylaws, policy manuals, and other documents in accordance with all matters and procedures set forth by the Board of Directors.
- Maintain school status with Region of Peel programs including:

- CDRCP
- Raising the Bar
- Early Learning and Care Assessment for Quality Learning
- Maintain school status with City of Mississauga Lottery and Gaming
- Manage school status with federal government programs
- Canada Student Jobs
- Canada Wide Early Learning & Child Care System
- Complete all playground inspections as per _CCEYA _
- Coordinate annual water testing through Ministry of Environment & Climate Change Drinking Water Program
- Any other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
- **Support a high quality, knowledgeable and effective staff team**:

- Responsible for managing appropriate staffing support and the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of additional staff within the daycare wWork with the Programming Supervisor to ensure all teacher to child ratios and maintained and organize Guest Teacher coverage for staff absences
- Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of each child, including retaining compliance with Peel Region requirements
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and manage qualified staff (ECEs and ECAs)
- Foster a positive working environment and develop strategies to increase staff engagement within the school
- Work with the Operations Supervisor in developing and maintaining the annual budget and progress
- Ensure completion of the following in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Programming Supervisor:

- Fire drill
- First Aid Kit inspection in all classrooms
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings and professional development days
- e Lead the short and long-term planning for the school
- Remain current with best practices, teaching and learning pedagogy, and Ministry initiatives and publications
- Maintain RECE status and provide emergency ECE coverage when needed
- **Support TYC’s Board of Directors**:

- Provide regular updates about TYC’s finances, provincial and region funding, licensing requirements, operations, arising issues and opportunities, and seek necessary approval of the Board of Directors in a timely manner.
