**About the role**:
Retail Advice & Solutions and Investment Solutions Compliance Canada is looking for a Compliance Manager to join their dynamic team, reporting to the Director and Assistant Chief Compliance Officer, Advisory.

The incumbent will act as the compliance advisory lead for Sun Life’s third-party distribution channel of life and health insurance products. The individual will work on a team of Compliance Managers who provide ongoing regulatory consultation to ensure adherence to the regulatory compliance management program across Sun Life Canada’s retail business units.

The incumbent will have experience working with financial services regulatory compliance regimes and related requirements/guidance documents as well as knowledge of applicable regulators. Knowledge of products and services in the insurance space is required. Sun Life’s principal insurance products include permanent life, participating life, term life, universal life, critical illness, long-term care, and personal health insurance.

**What will you do?**
- Provide ongoing regulatory consultation to business stakeholders
- Interpret, communicate, and monitor regulatory changes, and assess proposed controls and action plans
- Review Sun Life Canada’s retail regulatory requirements library, collaborating with the Canada Compliance Program & Governance, and Enterprise Compliance teams
- Support ongoing monitoring and testing of control measures, and consult on recommended updates and changes to the Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) framework
- Identify, review, and provide independent effective challenge to RCM Issues
- Provide timely and transparent RCM reporting to senior management
- Collaborate with other departments within Sun Life to ensure regulatory requirements are well understood, consistently applied, and corresponding controls mitigate risks as intended
- Foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization by promoting ethical behavior, accountability, and adherence to regulatory standards
- Liaise regularly with the other members of the Canadian Compliance team

**What do you need to succeed?**
- 2 - 4 years of experience in compliance related roles
- Excellent understanding of individual insurance products (permanent life, participating life, term life, universal life, critical illness, long-term care, and personal health insurance)
- Excellent command of insurance laws and regulations
- Strong familiarity with the regulatory framework governing insurance sales distribution
- Several years of experience working at an Insurance Company or in a related field or discipline
- Familiarity with OSFI guidelines and expectations
- Ability to navigate within a multi-matrix organization in a fast-paced environment
- Exercises professional development, sound judgement, is comfortable with data and can work in a digital environment
- Proven ability to communicate key regulatory concepts to different stakeholders with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence change
- As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the position reports to a unilingual English-speaking manager outside Quebec.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Knowledge of products and services in the insurance distribution space and familiarity with OSFI requirements
- Successful completion of related insurance professional development (e.g., LLQP, LOMA).
- Completion of related professional designations is an asset
