**Support development of B.C’s Health Human Resources Strategy**
Health Human Resources Strategy is a new solution to achieve a diverse, accessible, and sustainable health care workforce and system. This new strategy will require health sector partners to collaborate towards a shared and equity-focused vision for the future of health service delivery. The strategy identifies four cornerstones and 70 specific actions to support a healthy and productive workforce and a better health-care system. It also acknowledges and embeds the Province’s commitment to breaking the cycle of systemic and anti-Indigenous racism in health care.
**What you’ll do**
The Project Manager I will spearhead multiple projects in alignment with PHSA’s strategic objectives and advance the People and Culture team toward a people first culture. Ensuring deliverables are completed on time and on budget as identified in the project plan, and also providing consultation, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and partners will also be part of the mix. The Project Manager will:
- Establish detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables.
- Execute project plans according to project methodologies, ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components, consult with partners as needed and ensure readiness for project implementation.
- Track, monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Make recommendations to the Manager regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implement or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints, and use best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
**What you bring**
**Qualifications**:
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline with a minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups. Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach team members on these skills.
- Experience or working knowledge of content areas is key to the success of this role.
- The ability to effectively monitor budgets and execute project plans with stringent timelines.
- The ability to utilize initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.
- Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
- Effective facilitation, persuasion and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.
- The capacity to work effectively to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner.
