**SUMMARY**

The **Heritage Conservation Program Manager **supports the functions and responsibilities of the BGIS Heritage Conservation Program, ensuring delivery of projects, facility/property management requirements, monitoring of heritage assets and heritage conservation oversight at heritage buildings.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide guidance on the preparation of Heritage Recording Reports.
- Create Heritage Conservation Plans and reports
- Oversee BGIS Heritage Conservation Program for built and movable heritage assets.
- Ensure the Heritage Conservation Program provides a holistic approach to services for heritage buildings, landscapes and associated infrastructure, including coordination among specialized architectural, engineering, landscape architecture, technical and historic material conservation services.
- Be the designated single point of contact to provide oversight of the Heritage Conservation Program and to be the primary contact person, when requested, to act as liaison with PWGSC’s regional and national heritage coordinators.
- Ensure that team members are familiar with requirements for managing heritage buildings
- Attend information sessions offered by PWGSC or by the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office (FHBRO), as requested.
- Ensure that services for designated heritage assets respect and conserve heritage character, are provided in accordance with FHBRO requirements and meet related obligations.
- Provide services in heritage buildings, landscapes and associated infrastructure, coordinating specialized architectural, engineering, landscape architecture, technical and historical material conservation requirements.
- Attend meetings related to the assessment of assets for heritage classification by government authorities, as an observer, as requested.
- Protect the heritage character of Recognized and Classified heritage buildings
- Attend information sessions offered internally by PWGSC or by the Canadian Conservation Institute, on identifying and managing moveable heritage assets, as requested.
- Identify requirements and opportunities, and undertake Work to assist Custodians in the management of movable heritage assets.
- Ensure that Work is consistent with the TB Guide to the Management of Movable Heritage Assets
- Other duties as assigned

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**
- University graduation or professional certification (e.g. P. Eng, CMA, CGA or equivalent courses)
- At least 5 years of job related experience
