**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The Corporation of the City of Orillia has an opening for a contract position of Project Manager - Downtown Orillia Streetscape Improvement Project in the Engineering Division of the Development Services and Engineering Department for approximately 20 months.

**DUTIES**
- Perform Project Management duties to finalize the Design, Budget, and Staging/Communications Plan as well as oversee the procurement of a General Contractor for the construction project phases and manage the construction contract to completion.
- Coordinate and manage the Design Team to produce drawings at each design iteration for review and pricing.
- Develop, with the Quantity Surveyor, an appropriate Project Construction Budget.
- Run Project Meetings with clear Action By notations for all involved.
- Prepare for and liaise with outside agencies for approvals, documentation, and coordination.
- Coordinate and communicate with other City staff, consultants, contractors, media, council, and the public as necessary.
- Be the main point of contact for Downtown Orillia Streetscape Improvement Project, and follow up on all questions, comments and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend meetings, seminars and conferences as required, including presenting reports to Council, Committees and public stakeholder groups as required.
- Lead Staff and Council to establish Stakeholder group and to manage project interaction with that group.
- Coordinate and lead team meetings to review constructability of draft designs, review compliance with the Engineering Design Criteria Manual, review and prepare budgeting, review and prepare schedules.
- Maintain accurate and clear project records.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum of a three-year Civil engineering technology college diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Minimum of a certification as a Certified Technician (C.Tech.) or equivalent. Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification considered an asset.
- A minimum five years of experience in a construction supervision or project management role.
- Demonstrated project management experience with civil engineering design and construction projects is an asset.
- Experience on a Streetscape Project would be an asset.
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Book 7 of the Ontario Traffic Manual.
- Working knowledge of road, traffic, water, wastewater and stormwater systems and experience with municipal construction site operations.
- Excellent computer skills using MS Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Teams.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team environment as well as excellent report writing, project management, communication, presentation, public relations, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and judgment skills.
- Knowledge and practical experience surrounding municipal government responsibilities and best practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of the use of Gannt Chart critical path scheduling to manage projects.
- Possess a valid class ‘G’ Ontario driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
- A current and acceptable Criminal Record Check is required for this position at the incumbent’s expense, prior to the commencement date.

Compensation for this position is $103,856 to $108,010 for a 35-hour work week. Applications will be accepted until March 28, at noon.
