**About the role**

This position is accountable for support and procurement of required materials to support the organization. The Co-op Student is responsible for commodity analyses, procurement activities and should gain a thorough understanding of the materials management and procurement processes.

Safety is the Core Value of Stelco and the individual will make Safety their first priority in the execution of all work activities, including monitoring contractor/vendor safety in support of work efforts.

**Responsibilities**:

- Commodity market analyses including cost, supply, and risk analyses (supply, operating, pricing).
- Undertake bid processes for the purpose of purchasing medium dollar commodities.
- Undertake sale process to maximize return on secondary non steel products (ie. Obsolete scrap).
- Conversion of requisitions into Purchase Orders;
- Invoices Reconciliation, Pricing Adjustments, and reports for the department;
- ERP system support (vendor mgmt., access, troubleshoot);
- Lead and complete business process efficiency projects to reduce tactical functions.
- Ad hoc assignments as needed.

**Qualifications**
- Working towards a Degree or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Engineering or Related Field;
- Returning to school in September 2025
- Eligible for a 16 month co-op term
- A current full time student

**Job Skills and Knowledge**
- Proficient in Excel, specifically data manipulation and statistics;
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, decision making, and sound judgment are a necessity.

- Individual will be assigned projects/tasks with the ability to work under mínimal supervision to complete tehm
