**Your Opportunity**:
As a Tissue Specialist I, you will be responsible for the sterile recovery of cadaveric human tissues for transplant. You will assist the Tissue Specialist II by documenting recovery and processing information in the donor chart, maintaining accurate documentation of all activities. You will have the opportunity to assist with the sterile processing of tissue, to be used for transplantation. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and will be required to participate in quality control and quality assurance processes and lab activities related to tissue banking. The position requires long hours of standing during tissue recovery.

As a Tissue Specialist I, you will be responsible for the recovery and processing of human tissues for transplant. As you will be working in a fast-paced environment, you will be required to participate in quality control and quality assurance processes and lab activities related to tissue banking.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of Grade 12.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Graduation from a health sciences degree program or related field that includes physiology and anatomy.

**Preferred Qualifications**:
Previous operating room experience. Previous tissue banking experience. Certification as a Tissue Specialist or equivalent by a recognized Canadian or American organization. Knowledge of American Association of Tissue Banks and Health Canada Regulations/CSA Standards.
