**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Preparing Purchase Orders for equipment, materials, supplies, and/or services, and ensuring timely release of Purchase Orders to support plant schedules.
- Researching and negotiating pricing on materials, equipment, supplies and/or services.
- Maintaining accurate vendor and parts files.
- Monitoring vendor quality and delivery performance, and assist with measurement systems feedback.
- Communicating deviations of requested delivery dates and/or part availability to leadership.
- Ensuring conformance with all internal and external procedures and requirements.
- Providing status reports and summaries as required.
- Working with Expeditors to expedite and verify deliveries.
- Working with Customer Support to handle quality issues and returns to vendors in a timely manner.
- Assisting in continuous improvement initiatives and annual inventory.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

**Required Skills & Experience**:

- 3-5 years related experience
- Familiarity with purchasing practices and procedures, and with Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills (positive attitude; ability to maintain good working relationships with internal and external partners)
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
- Ability to work well under mínimal supervision and with strong attention to detail
- Highly motivated to work with diverse technical group

**Educational or Academic Requirements**:

- College diploma in relevant area considered an asset.
- PMAC or APICS designation considered an asset.

**Working Conditions**:

- Prolonged sitting
- Frequent use of computer monitor and keyboard
- Frequent use of telephone
