**POSITION PURPOSE**
Our Finance Coordinator works closely with the Finance Manager to maintain the accounts payable operations of Catch The Fire Toronto, Canada, and World (“Catch The Fire”). The Finance Coordinator is detail-oriented, organized, extremely trustworthy, and possesses a high level of numerical accuracy. With administrative excellence, they engage with leadership and external stakeholders to preserve Catch The Fire’s financial standing by monitoring compliance as they process transactions.
**POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES**
Key accountabilities and responsibilities for this role:
**Administrative Excellence**
- Maintain records within the financial accounting software with keen attention to detail.
- Perform reconciliation procedures and complete month-end duties by deadline, to facilitate accurate reporting.
- Maintain clean and organized historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques in preparation for annual financial audit. Provide relevant stakeholders with supporting documents as requested.
- Contribute to Government remittances for the Finance Manager and Director by:
- Preparing quarterly tax rebate paperwork as required.
- Prepare, for review by the Finance Manager, and once approved, deliver required T4A and T4A-NR slips.
- Prepare and review any other required tax statements with the Finance Manager as required.
**Vendor and Internal Relationships**
- Monitor compliance to all financial policies and procedures, educating as required and raising any concerns to the Finance Manager and Director of Operations.
- Follow up internally with deadlines set by the Finance Manager, maintaining a professional, positive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Act as a representative to the banks and financial institutions, initiating administrative tasks regarding Catch The Fire accounts.
**Payment Processing**
- Complete and reconcile payments as required, in accordance with the established financial procedures and internal controls, meeting our deadlines with payees by:
- Issuing and delivering cheques
- Preparing and completing wire transfers
- Processing bill payments
- Disbursing and managing petty cash
- Operate and maintain corporate credit card accounts, according to procedures set by the Finance Manager.
- Monitor expense accounts to ensure spending is within budgetary restrictions. Communicate any risks to the Finance Manager.
- Perform annual expense reconciliations and other audit procedures
**Other Tasks**
- Other related duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Director of Operations
**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
Key educational and experiential qualifications for this role:
- High School Diploma is required with a basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Relevant experience, an accounting certification or undergraduate degree related to finance, economics or business is an asset.
- Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products is required. Proficiency in Blackbaud’s Financial Edge is an asset.
- Willingness to learn accounting principles, particularly related to the charity sector.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and mathematical abilities and a high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Extremely trustworthy and professional demeanour while working with a variety of people.
- Ability to maintain composure while under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Agree with and live in accordance with Catch The Fire Statement of Faith
