Kennel Assistant

Pet Pleasure Resort is looking for a dependable, enthusiastic animal lover to join our team.

The kennel assistant is responsible for maintaining a high standard of care to all animals.

This physically demanding role, is truly a labour of love. It requires a magnitude of cleaning kennels. You will be required to observe pets during exercise, and monitor any behavioral changes.

You will spend the majority of time standing, lifting and bending in all weather conditions.

**Kennel duties include**: maintaining a clean and safe work environment, monitoring pets regularly to ensure good health, communicate to supervisors any abnormalities, basic grooming (bath, nails and brushing), feeding and administering medication to pets including insulin, must be able to work independently with willingness to take on extra duties outlined by supervisor, excellent time management skills.

**Front desk duties include**: greeting pets upon arrival, answering the phone, checking in and out customers on a computerized boarding system, accounts receivable/payable, booking boarding/grooming appointments, must maintain an organized work space, must have a strong ability to multitask.

Post secondary education in animal care/veterinary technician or prior work experience with animals is an asset.

Must have own transportation to and from work site.

Salary dependent on work experience.
