**What You’ll Do**:
The Aviation Safety Analyst is responsible and accountable to the Aviation Safety Manager for the following:

- Participating in the daily review of safety reports for the purpose of determining the scope of investigation and event classification;
- Conducting safety investigations, analysis, and identification of the cause or probable cause of hazards, incidents, and accidents identified under the safety management system (SMS) and fatigue risk management system (FRMS);
- Conducting hazard analysis and risk assessments;
- Conducting trend analysis on safety data;
- Evaluating effectiveness of corrective actions with respect to hazards, incidents, and accidents;
- Preparing and distributing reports to support the monitoring and analysis of trends in hazards, incidents and accidents;
- Promoting safety on an ongoing and regular basis (e.g. station visits and newsletter articles);
- Delivering SMS and FRMS specific training (e.g. investigation, root causes analysis, etc);
- Attending safety conferences and symposiums;
- Maintaining a personal, multi-disciplinary repertoire of concepts and philosophies that may be applied to the role;
- Other duties as assigned.

**What You’ll Need**:

- Undergraduate degree from a recognized university in Science, Engineering, or Humanities or an equivalent level of related education and experience;
- Experience in conducting research, analysis, and preparing written reports for management or stakeholders;
- Experience building and maintaining effective partnerships and working collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders;
- Demonstrated knowledge in data analysis techniques (ie.g. statistical methods);
- Possession of a Private Pilot’s Licence (or higher) or AME Licence would be a strong asset;
- Prior experience in the aviation industry, preferably in Flight Operations or Aircraft Maintenance, would be an asset;
- A good understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) for aviation organizations (e.g. Air Operator and Approved Maintenance Organization);

**Environment and Scope***:

- Knowledge seeking and able to work independently;
- Deadline oriented work environment;
- Hybrid work model;
- Mon to Fri, 9am to 5pm with some flexibility;
- Able to travel domestically and internationally.
