Forestry and Parks - Responsible for growing our manufactured wood products and forestry sector, preserving, and managing our public lands and protected areas. **Role Responsibilities**:

We are currently looking for enthusiastic a self-motivated individual that has a passion for the outdoors to fill the Recreation Infrastructure Planner position in Calgary. This position will be required for at least 3 years.

Reporting to the Recreation Management Specialist, this position supports recreation infrastructure initiatives on Crown Land in the eastern slopes of Alberta, for the purposes of increasing outdoor-recreation and nature-based tourism opportunities on a multiple use landscape.

In your role, you will develop recreation infrastructure plans for capital funding on a working landscape, conduct First Nations and stakeholder consultation, develop concept plans and related mapping, and align with policy and technical advice. You will develop and maintain a working relationship with the local operations team and recreation partners.

**Requirements**:

- A university degree in natural resources planning, outdoor recreation, land management, or landscape architecture. Equivalencies will be considered.
- Two years of progressively responsible, related experience, such as capital planning or outdoor recreation planning.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class 5) First Aid certification (CPR Level C)**Assets include**:

- Working knowledge and experience with Alberta crown land management, natural resource management and relevant legislation and regulations.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
- Experience in resource management, nature-based tourism, partnership coordination, contract management, and project coordination. Track record of working with stakeholders, municipal governments, and Indigenous communities.Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification.
