Synergy Kids is a centre for ABA and Speech Therapy as well as respite/camp in Oakville. We have a large centre with 8 treatment rooms, a classroom, kitchen, gym and sensory room. We are open 7 days a week.

Synergy Kids staff receive above average compensation as the skills we require are above average. We are seeking a skilled Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) to support our growing ABA Therapy team. Compensation is bi-weekly through bank deposit.

The BCBA will be outgoing, hardworking, and creative. Our clients require a customized approach to goal setting as they range in age (from 2-18 years old) and skills to target.

The BCBA will be comfortable supporting a growing team of staff; some staff are new and require closer supervision, the majority of ABA Therapists are experienced and will collaborate with you around goal setting and implementation. A portion of your role will be ABA Therapist observation/skill coaching, however, Lead Therapists also facilitate this on days that the BCBA is out of the building. The BCBA will be prepared to come into the centre at least 5 hours per week, other duties can be completed remotely or in-person as desired. Flexibility is required for in-centre days as you will observe each client at least once per month. You will consult with the Lead Therapists and ABA Therapists in-person and remotely through our EMR, Jane.
- Roles and Responsibilities of the BCBA:

- Conducting both functional and behavioral assessments (in-person, written and videoconferencing)
- Create Treatment Plans including SMART goals or GAS goals to be followed by ABA Therapy Team
- Utilize JANE for client booking, electronic medical record and scheduling of ABA Assessments and Therapy Sessions
- Lead clinical discussions and team meetings related to client progress and professional standards
- Review and analyze client data
- Provide ideas and input for new programming and initiatives
- Taking part in the development and implementation of individual behavior plans with the therapists
- Take on a training/mentoring role to new therapists
- Participation in team and parent meetings
- Demonstrates superior customer service through professionalism, courtesy, consistent and timely follow
- up, and positive communication
- In-person availability at least 5 hours per week. This will include a variety of daytime, evening and weekend hours per month to ensure all clients are observed by BCBA at least once per month
- Flexible working environment (home or centre) for 10 hours per week in addition to the 5 hours above
- As a key-holder you may be asked to open or close the centre including locking doors, setting alarm, ensure physical environment is tidy and safe
- Qualifications and Skills:
A Certified BCBA or BCBA-D

Familiarity with the Ontario Autism Program or other funding requirements

Practical experience with direct interaction and ABA play therapy with children diagnosed with Autism

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

Excellent collaborative attitude and willingness to mentor new staff members

Recent Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening, fully vaccinated including 2 doses of COVID 19 vaccine

Creative problem solver

Start date of March 31, 2023 is flexible for the right applicant
