- Completion of a recognized post-secondary program in a field of natural, physical or applied sciences or engineering relevant to the duties of the position or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency
- Experience working in a research or diagnostic laboratory in a relevant field using aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with cell cultures.
- Experience planning and conducting laboratory projects.
- Experience writing scientific papers and technical reports.
- Experience planning and managing simultaneous tasks
- Experience in a laboratory operating under a quality assurance/quality control system.
