**Hours**: 8:30 - 4:30 pm (Flexible work week; Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday).

One year contract with the option for renewal based on budget and performance.

**Reports to the Executive Director**:
**Position Summary**:
The Fundraising Coordinator is engaged in all aspects of the organization’s communications (marketing, and outreach) & fundraising initiatives. Their role is to work with the Executive Director to liaise with prospective donors and steward existing donor relations, ensuring visibility and a positive community reputation for the organization.

Through exceptional project management skills and creative and detailed fundraising initiatives they will be responsible for retaining existing fundraising revenue and securing new revenue streams for sustainable operations.

**Responsibilities and Duties (**_**but not limited to**_**)**:

- **Marketing/Communications**_

Communications: social media savvy, managing the bi-annual Newsletter layout and production as well as experience using design software.
- **Fundraising/Donor Stewardship**_
- Development and execution of Annual Giving programs.
- Working with the Executive Director to develop donor stewardship strategies.
- Coordinating major fundraising campaigns, planned giving campaigns, and other special projects.
- Work with Executive Director re: planning and tactics for strengthening stakeholder relationships.
- Build and maintain positive volunteer and community partnerships in support of 3rd party events).
- **Volunteer Management**_
- Community Relations and volunteer management experience preferred. Ensure appropriate recognition is provided to all Volunteers, Donors, Sponsors and other supporters.
- Recruit, screen and develop an appropriate mix of administrative and event volunteers to support programs and events
- Conduct volunteer training prior to events as required.
- **Administration**_
- Provide administrative support and assist in the development and implementation of special projects.
- Data entry (accuracy and consistency is critical) and issuing tax receipts.
- Project Management: event planning and execution. Monitoring expenses to budget and reporting on financial results. Assist the Executive Director as required with community presentations, speaking engagements.
- Respond to general inquiries

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration: Marketing & Communications, Public Relations or equivalent with relevant work experience in Fundraising.
- Minimum of two years related fundraising experience in a non-profit environment.
- Knowledge of project management, strategic communications planning, fundraising principles, and targeted message development.
- Demonstrated ability in using MS Office programs at an intermediate/advanced level, scanning software, and working knowledge of basic web design and tools; Experience with WordPress and advanced user with existing and emerging new social media tools.
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; ability to communicate messages in a professional and engaging manner.
- An excellent writer, with superior proofreading and editing skills.
- Detail oriented, extremely well organized, multi-tasking and project management skills, demonstrated ability to prioritize and resolve conflicting demands and deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to research and present information.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly confidential environment with constant communications between the leadership team, and to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Outgoing, adaptable, self-motivated, and a strategic thinker with fresh ideas and an enthusiastic approach to their work.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required, but typically the hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
- Valid Driver’s License with reliable transportation is required. Clean Driving Abstract is a requirement of employment.
- It is a condition of employment that employees provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start date of employment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 37.5 per week

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
