**What you’ll be doing**

Reporting to Manager, Project and Process Supports, the role of the Business Analyst (BA) Team Lead is to lead team of BA’s in providing business analyst support to assigned business areas. The BA Team Lead will manage stakeholder collaboration and engagement, facilitate the strategic analysis at division or department level, and lead the business process re-engineering (BPR), business process streamlining (BPS) and business case development for assigned client group(s).

**Responsibilities**
- Under the direction of a Project Manager, works collaboratively with domain SMEs, conducts strategic analysis by researching and analyzing business drivers and supporting the business to question, detect and document specific business needs and objectives at division or department level
- Pre-defines and initiates the appropriate work (elicitation) scope, chooses the right techniques, secures supporting materials, prepares stakeholders and conducts elicitation activities for business analysis information gathering; correctly captures the results obtained and confirms the results accurately reflects stakeholders’ expectation
- Specifies and models requirements and designs by preparing accurate and detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), wireframes and mockups for efficient prototype, and functional and non-functional specification documents, e.g. business process flowcharts, as per team standards and collected elicitation results; actively participates as a core member in solutioning process to facilitate and document the solution options per project team’s agreement; verifies documented requirements and designs with the business process owners or SMEs for signoff; follows a standard approach to identify and close document gaps for business requirements
- In consultation with SMEs, creates and manages product backlog items, leads backlog item grooming sessions and identifies the backlog priority; breaks down product items into user stories; for technology enabled processes, works closely with System Analysts (SA) and developers to ensure they are fully aware of and understand the business requirements for system design and testing purpose
- Sets up solution acceptance criteria; validates outputs and reviews the impact of implemented resolutions over time by gathering and analyzing user feedback to ensure all requirements and designs align with business requirements and support the delivery of the needed value
- Oversees the Requirement Life-Cycle Management from inception to retirement by managing the requirements’ tractability, maintenance, prioritization, change assessment, approval and retirement

**Team Lead Duties/Accountabilities**
- Advises on and contributes to the development of BA Framework and Procedures, includes BA standards and templates at BCCNM
- With a continuous improvement mindset, identifies opportunities and recommends enhancements to develop and improve procedures and framework for Business Analysis at BCCNM
- Monitors and provides direction to BA’s work, including short term students and/or contractors and ensures BA team members follow the established framework and procedures
- Proactively manage business analysis services risks and rescue high risk project with business requirement issues
- Facilitates teams, collaborating with staff and stakeholders. Help establish new business relationship and re establish existing relationships
- Promotes team effectiveness, and keeps team informed.
- Leads initiative and enhancement ideation sessions and complete any documentation to move from ideation to projects.
- Seeks feedback, shares with team, works to deliver service to internal and external customers.
- Improves performance and monitors progress towards team goals

**Your education & skills**
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline, plus a minimum of 5 years (with a Master’s degree) or 7 years (with a Bachelor’s degree) recent related experience; or the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Experience in leading a team of BA’s and contractors is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated advanced practice of the visual thinking and ability of finding suitable BA modelling and requirements gathering tools to represent complex information in an understandable textual and/or visual model to engage audience and connect them quickly to critical information for further inputs
- Demonstrated practice of the Systems Development Life Cycle and Agile, Scrum project management methodology
- Demonstrated ability to build compelling business cases, conduct strategic analysis such as cost/benefit and impact analysis, and manage RFP process and other critical business analysis skills
