**Overview**:The Lakeland Catholic School Division is currently in search of a well-qualified individual to fill the position of a Part-time Family Outreach Worker. Lakeland Catholic Board of Education strongly supports a community-based Family Outreach Worker Program focusing on at-risk children and families.
- **Responsibilities**:_
- Planning prevention and early intervention programs to support students and their families;
- Works collaboratively to support students, teachers, support staff, parents, administration and outside agencies;
- Provides individual and/or small group counseling sessions;
- Liaise with outside community agencies to provide student/family supports as required;
- Serve as an advocate for the students and families in need;
- Monthly reporting to the school Principal and Senior Administration as required;
- Handling of Crisis Management issues in a prompt and efficient manner;
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the programs and intervention strategies;
- Establish and maintain files, completing follow-up as required, and assessing/re-assessing student’s needs;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the school Principal or Senior Administration.
- **Qualification/Skills**:_
- Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs;
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge in child development and counseling therapy;
- Knowledge of behavioral intervention and management strategies;
- Effective oral, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills; the ability to multi-task is essential;
- Ability to establish a rapport in a non-judgmental, positive and respectful manner with students, staff and parents;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently.
