Compliance Analyst

Our team manages over 365 properties across Canada and the United States. We oversee 5 million square feet of commercial real estate and 43,000 residential units, including more than 120 private senior residences. The Cogir Foundation supports projects and causes grouped under four major areas: youth, seniors, cultural diversity, and the environment.**
**Available Offices**: Mississauga and/or Montreal
**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Chief of Compliance, the Compliance Analyst will be responsible for performing daily review, verification, and follow-up tasks to ensure that their portfolio of residences complies with internal policies and procedures. They will work closely with various teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks. In collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer, the analyst will participate in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Identify, define and asses existing Internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to meet certification objectives for their portfolio of residences.
- Support and collaborate with stakeholders in various operational activities to ensure the SOX program is executed according to the company’s plan.
- Evaluate the severity of deficiencies, identify root causes, and provide clear and practical recommendations for prompt remediation.
- Work with different teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with control owners and external auditors.
- Provide compliance advice and expertise to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in internal training on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements.
- Perform other related tasks.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA is a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance, auditing, or accounting
- Experience with SOX controls (an asset)
- Good knowledge of MS Office suite
