**Location**
**Position Overview**
The Supervisor of Policy & Regulatory Services is responsible for the day-to-day administration and supervision of the Policy & Regulatory Services section of the Building & By-law Department. This position will participate as an active member of the Building & By-law management team and will oversee productivity of the Policy & Regulatory Services section policy staff team.
**Responsibilities**
The Supervisor of Policy & Regulatory Services will be responsible for the following duties including, but not limited to:

- Day-to-day supervision of the Policy & Regulatory Services team including motivating, training, mentoring, development and carrying out performance evaluations of staff.
- Overseeing the Customer Service process for the Policy & Regulatory Services section, including the screening and processing of call inquiries related to building processes.
- Coordinating and overseeing workflow and assignment of work to staff. Assisting Policy staff with the more difficult files they are processing.
- Coordinating and auditing the legislative and litigation support services provided to Building Inspection staff by Policy staff in reviewing prosecution briefs and preparing legal forms and supporting documents for submission to Legal Services.
- Auditing and approving work completed by Policy staff upon preparing legal documents required to register and discharge Building Code Act (BCA) Orders on title prior to submitting to Legal Services/City Clerk/Commissioner.
- Liaising with members of Legal Services including external counsel, enforcement agencies, and responds to inquiries and/or requests.
- Performing a wide range of corporate administrative tasks assisting the Manager of Policy & Regulatory Services and Director of Building & By-law with administration and support.
- Overseeing requests, payments and customer service provided by Policy & Regulatory Services section by providing direction to Policy staff on records and information searches for Freedom of Information (FOI) requests related to Building and By-Law and Routine Disclosure (RD) requests received.
- Providing direction to Policy staff on records management for the Building & By-law department by communicating and ensuring compliance. Oversees destruction of records in accordance with the City’s retention by-law and the departmental policy for destruction of Building & By-law records.
