The Information Technology team is looking for a new Systems Administrator (Continuing Full time / Permanent) to play a pivotal role in supporting the needs of our Service. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is a progressive leader in the emerging field of policing technology.

**About the Role - How you will Contribute to the Service**:
Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst (Team Lead), the System Administrator is an essential role in the operation and maintenance of the Halton Regional Police Service computer aided dispatch (CAD), records management system (RMS) Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), structured query language (SQL), database servers and software. In addition, the role will be participating in planning, organizing and conducting analytical studies to define problems, identify deficiencies and improve solutions, and ongoing system support and upgrades within a fast-paced environment. This is a rewarding position for an ambitious IT professional with excellent problem, analytical and solution focused skills.

What you will be responsible for:

- Designs, plans and implements SQL database architecture structure.
- Creates database backup and data recovery plans. Monitors and optimizes database.
- Monitors backup errors, troubleshoots and provides solutions.
- Maintains production, test and training SQL databases. Writes SQL queries and scripts to analyze potential technical issues.
- Performs system maintenance, including major CAD, RMS, CPIC upgrades, patches and interfaces.
