Established in 1979, Northumberland Child Development Centre is a multi-service organization providing support to children, youth and families. We are a team of dedicated professionals strongly committed to family centred service who believe in clinical excellence. We are seeking an **Infant and Child Development Specialist** who is committed to supporting infants and young children whose development is considered to be at risk, and their families.

**Position Details**:

- Assessment, screening, **home-based intervention **and support for children from birth to school entry who require additional support to succeed.
- Opportunity to collaborate with other professionals in the working environment and in the community.
- Flexible hours including evenings.
- Maternity Leave Contract

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Knowledge and understanding of infant and child growth and development, parent-child attachment and family systems theory.
- Training and experience in administering and interpreting developmental screening and assessment tools.
- Knowledge and experience in parent coaching.
- Ability to formulate Individual Family Service Plans which meet the needs of the child and family within all environments, utilizing the principles of family centred and routines-based intervention.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written)
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Caseload Management software.
- University Degree (minimum Bachelor’s level) in child development or related discipline.
- Minimum two years experience working with infants, preschool children and families whose development is considered to be at risk due to an established diagnosis or risk factor.
- Experience in collaborating with other service providers and community organizations.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
