**Position**: Temporary Full-Time Awake Nights Direct Care Worker (Job #: 044-080123-021)

**Expected End**: September 2024

**Compensation**: $21.47/hour plus 4% vacation pay & 2.5% benefits in lieu (after probation)

**Location**: London, ON

**Schedule**: 32-40 hours per week; overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- This position involves working in a live-in setting supporting adults with developmental disabilities with their involvement in activities of daily living and person-centred programs that promote educational, behavioural, developmental, psychological, and emotional growth
- Ensure a safe, secure, and supportive environment for participants
- Administer prescription and non-prescription medications in accordance with established policies and protocols
- Accurate and thorough record-keeping, reporting, and documentation in compliance with policies, procedures, protocols, and legislated requirements
- Participate in the development and implementation of individual support plans, behavioural, or related intervention strategies for each person, by providing input based on shift observations
- Support healthy sleep patterns of participants while following program-specific planning
- Perform required housekeeping duties and meal preparation
- Transport individuals to and from activities and appointments, as required
- Work successfully with diverse groups and demonstrate commitment to principles of equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Human, Community, and/or Social Services (e.g., SSW, CYC, Sociology, Psychology)
- Minimum six (6) months of related experience is preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of support requirements specific to mental health and intellectual disabilities, along with the roles and responsibilities of this job
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication
- Strong mentorship, organization, conflict resolution, crisis management, and problem-solving skills, in addition to attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team, and independently as necessary
- Capacity to establish, implement, and maintain professional, and personal boundaries
- Multilingualism and having diverse lived experiences are considered assets
- Valid Class G (full) Driver’s License with a 3-year Uncertified Driver Record (mandatory)
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check with Humana listed as employer (mandatory)
- Physical Health assessment: verification of up-to-date immunizations, COVID vaccination status (2 doses), and ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (mandatory)
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR (mandatory), _Level C with AED training preferred_
