McCain is embarking on a digital transformation. Data & Analytics is a key enabler; we are making significant investments into our capabilities and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our teams to use this data to make decisions and drive value through the use of data.
We have a new and ambitious global Data & Analytics group, which serves as a resource to teams in our regions and global functions. We are recruiting a talented individual to join our team in the role of Manager, Global Analytics.
**JOB PURPOSE**:
Working with the Director, Global Analytics, the Manager Global Analytics will accelerate McCain’s use of analytics to drive business value, including driving adoption of key descriptive analytics and continuing to push the agenda forward on predictive and prescriptive analytics in areas such as pricing, forecasting, scheduling and product quality.
The Manager, Global Analytics, is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that brings together individuals with a wide range of experiences in business and technology. This challenging role requires good business knowledge, and also technical knowledge of what’s possible from data and digital tools. This role plays an important pivot point between our Data Technology team and the business teams, who we are working with to find ways to drive insights-led decision making.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Support development of a multi-year roadmap for analytics use cases and value creation for McCain; aligned with the themes of value creation, build business relationships to identify value-driving use cases for analytics
- Define and scope a delivery approach against targeted use cases; confirm KPIs and expected value delivery
- Mock up Proof-of-concept (POCs) or wireframes of analytics outputs to ensure alignment
- Project Delivery: work with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Technology team to execute advanced analytics models, testing and delivery to production
- Business relationship manager: ensure understanding of how advanced analytics will work within the business process; driving for transformation of business processes to ensure value-generation is sustainable
- Capability building: serve as a coach or mentor to business leaders on how to drive data into decision making; coach and mentor other analysts and data scientists in the team on driving business impact
- Continue to modernize data reporting / dashboards to improve adoption and usage
- Support user training and adoption
- Build a backlog of new reports and dashboards to accelerate manual reporting activities today, or give necessary data to key business decision makers
- Work with Data Governance team to ensure data quality issues identified are addressed at source
**SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL SHOW**:
- Demonstrated history of driving change in a large, global organization
- Knowledge and experience working with data to drive decision making; can speak with experience about how data-driven decisions shaped their career and business decisions
- Strong awareness of data best practices and what’s possible with rich data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build compelling narratives with data
- Ability to frame and complete a high-level business case as part of driving change
- Have a “get things done” attitude. This role is about inspiring change, but committing to your business leaders to get them the data they need
- Ability to “get hands dirty” and mock up a dashboard, review code, or consult with Technology colleagues on technical requirements
**KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES**:
- Project Management: defining and shaping your own agenda
- Experience with managing and influencing executive-level audiences, including meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and delivering conclusions
- A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion end-to-end
- Change Management
- Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics
- Able to establish a case for change and “sell” an idea; comfortable challenging the status quo and suggesting alternative business processes inspired with data and technology
- Able to explain data concepts in a way that is approachable and compelling
- Data Design and Analysis
- Experience with requirement analysis (interviewing, facilitation, gap analysis, data analysis, business process mapping, user interface design and mock-up)
