**About KFLA Regional Youth Hubs**

Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario has provided funding to expand access to youth services in Kingston Frontenac Lennox and Addington. They will be funding a Youth Wellness Team to help operate multi-service hubs for youth aged 12-25 in the region. Home Base is proud to support the Hub in joint leadership with the Maltby Centre, Kingston Community Health Centres, and Addictions and Mental Health KFLA. One Roof Youth Wellness Hub will represent the urban component of the KFLA Regional Youth Hub model. The Hubs provide an inclusive, positive, and welcoming space where participants can socialize with peers and access a wide range of wraparound supports. These services can be accessed in one location and are provided by over 20 community partners. These services include but are not limited to, mental health, substance use/addictions, primary care, crime prevention services, employment/training, housing, cultural programming, skills and well-being activities, and other community and social services.

**Responsibilities**:

- As the first point of contact, will welcome visitors and youth accessing the drop-in space in a professional manner. They will contribute to creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, non-judgemental, anti-oppressive atmosphere
- Assisting new youth and helping them navigate services, including explaining, intaking, and motivating youth to utilize My Wellness Passport System
- Receiving and processing external intake referrals; making referrals as appropriate
- Maintains the database and generates reports on a regular and consistent basis
- Provides training on database as required
- Conducting administrative support activities, composing routine correspondence, preparing presentation materials, coordinating events/ functions as directed by management
- Booking appointments for clients with One Roof staff and community partners utilizing partners intake procedures
- Accumulate and maintain resource materials for client usage
- Works from a harm reduction and youth centered approach
- Provide services out of other locations of KFLA Regional Youth Hubs as Required
- Post appropriate information and photos to social media outlets
- Represent hub to youth, families, and community partners and liaise between all groups
- Additional tasks assigned by management

**Skills, Knowledge, and Education Required**:

- Knowledge of office skills and procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; interpersonal skills with ability to set and maintain boundaries
- Strong time management skills: ability to multitask
- Crisis management skills
- Exceptional confidentiality awareness skills are a requirement
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Bilingual in English and Advanced Level French would be an asset
- Comprehensive computer expertise in Microsoft Office and Google Drive, to prepare presentations, populate spreadsheets and data bases and prepare written reports
- Knowledge of Indigenous peoples, culture, and healing practices
- Knowledge of anti-oppression and inclusion including knowledge of supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth and creating positive spaces
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgment in responding to enquiries
- Knowledge of housing, health care, programs, and community resources in Kingston
- Experience working with individuals who use substances, have mental health issues and/or who have come into contact with the criminal justice system preferred
- Knowledge of transitional aged youth needs
- Knowledge and implementation of harm reduction strategies
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and own means of transportation are required

**Qualifications**:

- University Degree or Community College Diploma in Social Services or related field
- 2-4 years social service or mental health experience especially with transitional aged youth
- Administrative experience required
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$47,000.00 per year
