Privacy & Compliance Specialist

**Position Objective**:
A Privacy and Compliance Specialist is a professional responsible for ensuring that a company or organization adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies relevant to its operations. Their primary role is to minimize compliance, privacy and regulatory risk by reviewing, studying, developing, implementing, and overseeing compliance directives under the leadership of the Financial Controller.
**Term: This is a contract role - 8-12 months**
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Being proficient with Canadian laws, regulations and preparing Company Directives to suit Porsche requirements and local regulations. Topics include but are not limited to Corruption (active and passive), Fraud, Conflict of Interest, Anti-Competition and Anti-Money Laundering, Integrity
- Working very closely with Financial Controller and Compliance counterparts from Porsche Cars Canada to understand the verbiage of compliance and privacy documents and be proficient in quickly spotting can-do’s and cannot-do’s within the Canadian Labor Market.
- Efficient in maintaining and tracking the progress of Directives with up-to-date comments to be shared with the Senior Management on a regular basis.
- Reviewing current and future Compliance Directives and updating with justifiable notes, comments, and information for future possible references.
- Maintaining and updating Compliance topic Directives and related documentation in accordance with Porsche Group requirements
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Bachelor of Arts, L.L.B Degree or equivalent degree from recognized Canadian university.
- Certification from recognized Canadian compliance professionals organization.
**Experience (Job and Industry)**:
- 5 plus years corporate compliance experience
- Experience at a law firm is a benefit
- Knowledge of Quebec Privacy law is a benefit
- Knowledge and/or exposure to the automotive industry
**Skills**:
- Substantive legal/compliance knowledge and basic understanding of laws pertaining to Canadian Market.
- Understanding of automobile industry in Canada.
- Must be detail oriented and have strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to quickly understand compliance and privacy verbiage.
- Ability to foresee issues and conflicts that could arise when localizing Porsche driven directives to Canadian Labor markets.
- Ability to work in a multi-functional team and collaborate with executive and senior management.
- Motivated, goal-oriented and high performing
- Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight timelines.
- Ability to proactively solve problems and work independently.
