Pet ownership comes with responsibility, and we believe by teaching children the skills of owning a pet we are encouraging them to develop a sense of self, and providing them with the tools to provide care and compassion to an animal.

**Qualifications**:

- Desire and ability to work with children in an educational, interactive manner
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Ability to assist in teaching an activity
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, sense of humour, patience, and self-control
- Position is open to students 16 years or older, college and university students are encouraged to apply
- Certifications in First Aid and in HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Learn the likes/ dislikes of each participant.
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group.
- Follow day-to-day activity schedule and engage campers in activities. Assist in teaching or leading an activity, as assigned.
- Guide individual campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities.
- Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
- Prepare for and actively participate in staff training, and meetings.
- Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing clean up and chores.
- Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
- These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.

**Summer** - All applicants must be available for a minimum of 6 weeks of employment over July/August. The Stittsville and East End locations do not have 6 weeks of camps offered so you will need to be able to access a secondary location.

Training takes place online and in-person at the OSGOODE location. You need to be able to get to Osgoode for training regardless of your chosen camp location. There are 2 training in-person dates required and they will take place weekday evenings or weekends. You will be able to choose from several dates.
