Part time Florist and Shop Assistant position

Join Us for a Blooming Season Seeking a permanent Florist to join our growing team.

Position: Permanent Part time florist positionHours may vary but will likely be around 6-12 hours per week to start, and will include more hours during peak seasonal occasions (Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Christmas, and Wedding season)

**Duties and Responsibilities**: As a Part time Floral Designer, you will play a pivotal role in helping us bring floral dreams to life. Your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Assist shop owner in completing floral deliveries (must have access to own vehicle)
- Floral Design: Create stunning and innovative floral arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, and installations according to client preferences and seasonal themes.
- Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, offer design recommendations, and provide exceptional customer service throughout the design process.
- Select and source the highest quality flowers, foliage, and materials needed for each project while staying within budget constraints.
- Preparation: Process and condition flowers, ensuring they are fresh and ready for design work.
- Detail oriented, and able to quickly learn the ins and out's of running a flower shop, Including closing the shop, conducting closing cash-out process for a balanced till.
- Creativity: Stay updated on current floral design trends, bring fresh ideas to the table, and contribute to the overall aesthetic of our floral arrangements
- Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality in floral design, ensuring that each piece meets our brand's excellence.
- Care for a variety of tropical and drought tolerant plants, including watering and cleaning
- Cleanup: Assist to keep the shop clean and a welcoming environment.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Floral Designer, preferably with a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Exceptional creative and artistic skills with a keen eye for color, composition, and detail.
- Proficiency in various floral design techniques and knowledge of floral care and handling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Flexibility in work hours and availability during major flower-giving holidays.
- Own transportation for sourcing and delivering flowers
- A passion for floral design and a commitment to delivering excellence in every project.

**Experience**:

- Previous experience working as a florist or in a similar role is preferred (3 years +)
- Knowledge of different types of flowers, plants, and floral arrangements
- Familiarity with cashiering procedures and cash handling
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English (multilingual skills are a plus)
- Proficiency in using POS systems for order processing or willingness and aptitude to learn

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $15.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 20 per week
