POSITIONSUMMARY
The Blown Film Extruder Operator is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of blown film extrusion equipment to produce high-quality plastic film products. This role involves monitoring and adjusting machine settings, ensuring product specifications are met, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise during the production process. The operator is also responsible for conducting regular equipment inspections, performing routine maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols.
The Blown Film Extruder Operator plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the production of quality plastic film products while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate blown film extrusion machinery according to the production specifications.
- Monitor machine parameters, such as temperature, pressure and speed to ensure the consistent production of quality film.
- Load raw materials into the extruder and monitor material levels throughout the production run.
- Coordinate with the Operations Coordinator to ensure a continuous supply of raw materials.
- Conduct regular quality checks on the produced film to ensure it meets our company and customer standards.
- Make adjustments to the machine settings as needed to maintain product quality.
- Identify and address any issues or malfunctions during the production process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical problems to minimize down time.
- Keep detailed records of production activities, including machine settings. Downtime and quality control checks.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors to optimize the production processes.
- Communicate effectively to report any issues and provide feedback on process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean work space at all times and following all safety protocols required.

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience operating blown film extrusion line/equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of quality control processes.
- Ability to lift and move materials.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to production high-quality products.
- Strong communication skills.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- The job often involves standing or walking for extended periods during the shift, as operators need to monitor and oversee the production process.
- Extruder operators may need to lift and carry heavy rolls of plastic film, raw materials, or equipment components.
- Precise adjustments and interventions in the machinery may require good manual dexterity.
