**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Supervision & Training**:
- Lead and supervise traffic control personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company standards.
- Conduct comprehensive training for new staff and fresh hires to ensure they are up to speed on traffic control procedures.
- Arrange training sessions for staff, focusing on duties, policies, and compliance with traffic regulations.
- Provide on-site training for new and young workers in the field.
- **Planning & Coordination**:
- Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and organize activities to accomplish work efficiently.
- Coordinate traffic control activities with other work units or departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Mobilize resources to ensure timely execution of scheduled events, including traffic control setups and installations.
- **Compliance & Safety**:
- Review and inspect work zone temporary traffic control setups to ensure compliance with drawings, plans, and regulatory specifications.
- Address any work zone deficiencies promptly and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safety-first environment and ensure all employees follow company policies and safety protocols.
- **Operational Management**:
- Prepare and submit reports on traffic control activities, incidents, and compliance, communicating findings to management.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Continuously ensure trucks and equipment are in good working order.
- Liaise with the Senior Operations Manager and Dispatcher to facilitate seamless communication between office and field work.
- **Recruitment & Team Management**:
- Recruit, hire, and onboard staff to maintain a cohesive team.
- Schedule personnel effectively and conduct performance reviews to assess and manage staff performance.
- Ensure field crew has appropriate training and that all applicable certificates are maintained.
- **Customer Relations**:
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Create opportunities to expand traffic control services within the industry.
- **Resource Management**:
- Coordinate, assign, and review work to ensure efficient operations.
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
**Qualifications:Must Have**:
- **Experience**: Minimum 5 years of experience in traffic control supervision or a related field.
- **Certification**: Valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification; WHMIS, OFA Level 3, and fall protection training.
- **Knowledge**: Strong understanding of traffic laws, regulations, and best practices.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), SiteDocs, PDF software, and other relevant software.
- **TMP Expertise**: Expert in creating Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) using RapidPlan.
- **Computer Proficiency**: Ability to operate computers and other devices to prepare documents in the field effectively.
- **Leadership**: Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
- **Problem-Solving**: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
**Preferred**:
- **Additional Certifications**: Other relevant traffic control or safety certifications.
- **Project Management Experience**: Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- **Industry Knowledge**: Familiarity with the Lower Mainland's specific traffic regulations and conditions.
- **Software Skills**: Experience with additional traffic management software or tools.

Pay: $55,000.00-$72,000.00 per year
